Shri Sanjiv Bhutani has joined as Director General/RDSO on 30th July, 2021. He was earlier working as Principal Chief Electrical Engineer in Western Railway. He graduated from R.E.C. Kurukshetra University in the Year 1984 and belongs to IRSEE 1984 batch.
He has vast experience of Railway & Metro working, having served in various capacities as Branch officer in Electric Loco operation and maintenance, Electric Traction distribution on Ratlam, Vadodra, Kota and Mumbai Central Division of WR, Electrical (construction) of SER and WR and as Group General Manager in Urban Transport (SBU Head) at RITES Ltd./Gurgaon. He was deputed as a team leader of training at Hitachi/Japan and played vital role in setting up of manufacturing facilities to Hitachi traction Motor at CLW. He has prepared DPR for more than 10 Metros and provided detailed design consultancy for setting up of maintenance depot, power supply and traction system for Ahmedabad Metro. While working as PCEE in WR, he achieved many milestones viz National Energy Conservation Award-2019 as well 2020, Setting up of maintenance facilities for electric locomotives in Diesel sheds RTM & VTA, Electrification of 1243 RKm-the highest on IR, Introduction of electric traction on RJT & BVP divisions and establishing world record for running of double stack container freight services on electric traction under world’s highest High rise OHE (7.57m) on 10th June’ 2020. He has visited France, South Africa and USA for attending International Railway Strategic Management course. He is Gold Medalist of Kurukshetra University and has received national Award for outstanding services in 2002-03 and 03 nos. of General Mangers Award for rendering meritorious services.
