2) Role of QA/S&T Directorate
The primary objective of Quality Assurance (S&T) Directorate is,
"Development /Registration of vendors for supply of important signalling and telecommunication equipments and ensuring quality of the equipments through inspection of material at firm’s premises & periodic quality audits."
The major activities of QA (S&T) Directorate are:
a) Inspection of Signalling and Telecom items.
b) Vendor development (Fresh Registration/ Multi sourcing)
c) Periodical Quality Audits of Firms.
d) Monitoring Performance of Approved Vendors
e) Officer level Test Checks on material inspection on selected items.
f) Surprise Inspection.
g) Issue of Vendor Directory including monthly amendments.
