11th International Day of Yoga-2025 Celebrated at RDSO

                                             
RDSO organized a series of activities to commemorate International Yoga Day (21st June). Series of activities started with a special yoga workshop held o­n 13th June, 2025. The workshop was organized by the Personnel Directorate at new auditorium, specifically for outsourced and Level-1 employees, to familiarize them with the importance of yoga. Renowned yoga expert  Vandana Barnwal, State Coordinator, Patanjali Yoga Samiti, Uttar Pradesh guided the participants through the fundamental principles of yoga, including pranayama, meditation, and simple yoga postures. Describing yoga as a holistic lifestyle, she highlighted its physical, mental and spiritual benefits. 
Continuing the series of activities under International Yoga Day, RDSO organized a special webinar o­n the topic "Importance of Yoga" o­n 16th June 2025 as part of the series of yoga awareness programs. The keynote speaker Dr. Prashant Rai, Professor, Department of Physical Education, Maharaja Suheldev University, Azamgarh shared his deep experiences of yoga, physiology and mindfulness with the participants. He described yoga as an effective medium of mental, physical and emotional balance.
In another significant initiative, the Directorate of Traffic & Psycho-Tech of RDSO organized yoga sessions for loco pilots from 17th June 2025, in which, starting with the chanting of 'Om', warm-up, Vajrasana, Anulom-Vilom and meditation techniques were practiced, which will prove helpful in their mental alertness and emotional balance.
A special yoga session for women employees was held o­n 18th June 2025 at RDSO auditorium, where practical exercises o­n stress management, positive thinking and inner energy development were conducted by renowned instructor B. K. Swarnalatha Didi/Prajapita Brahmakumari Ishwariya Vishwavidyalaya. Women employees found it an empowering and healthy experience.
RDSO organized various programs focused o­n mental health and overall well-being o­n 20th June 2025. A Vipassana Meditation session was organized under the guidance of Bhikshu Sheel Ratan Ji, (Buddha Vihar, Lucknow) at Rajdhani Hall, RDSO Colony, in which methods of attaining inner peace through introspection and mental purification were taught.
In the same sequence, a special practice session o­n Yoga and Meditation was also organised at the Traffic & Psycho-Tech Directorate of RDSO o­n 20.06.2025 o­n the eve of International Yoga Day 21st June 2025, in which the employees were given practice to develop self-awareness and a sense of organizational cooperation through Pranayam, pronunciation of the word 'Om' and Vedantic meditation techniques.
RDSO organized a grand event 'Yoga Sangam' o­n 21st June in coordination with the live yoga program of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi from Visakhapatnam. RDSO officers, employees, family members and students collectively watched the live broadcast and practiced yoga.
Yogasana, Pranayama and meditation were practiced under the guidance of instructors at various places including badminton halls, schools and parks. The program also presented a wonderful example of health, unity and collective consciousness, realizing the Prime Minister's message of "Yoga se Sahyog" and "Ek Bharat - Swasth Bharat".
